| History | |
| Physical description | Their beautiful pattern looks pattern looks like a metallic sun set with black clouds. The amount of black spots and other colours varies with this animal. Usually they have two spots on the nose (like with D. imitator), but sometimes they are absent. D. intermedius is also known as "red imitator", both species look related. Some people have suggested that D. intermedius is a hybrid of D. imitator and D. Fantasticus, but behaviour and development of the larvae in captivity does not confirm this. Should it be a cross-breed, it is probably not a recent cross-breed. |
