Discovery Aichinger, 1991, Herpetologica, 47: 1.
Type locality "on a horizontal tree 1.2 m above a stream in the Serranía de Sira, Río Llullapichis drainage, 750 m, Departamento Huánuco, Peru (9°28'S, 74°47'W)".
Holotype The holotype: NHMW 31892 is located in the Naturhistorisches Museum in Vienna, Austria.
Etymology
Classification Dendrobates sirensis will probably have to be added to Minyobates. According to The American Museum of Natural History D. sirensis is synonym of D. imitator. D. sirensis is only known from a few specimens.

History
Physical description D. sirensis is a fast jumpy species.
Distribution Serrania de Sira, East-Central Peru
Biotope Treetops
Care and breeding They can be kept at a temperature of 25-27°C.
