Type locality "Sarayacu", Pastaza, Ecuador and "Canelos", Pastaza, Ecuador; restricted to Sarayacu, Pastaza, Ecuador, by lectotype designation.

Etymology
Classification Is a member of the Epipedobates pictus group.

History
Physical description Very similar to E. bilinguis. Juvenile parvalus are bright red and blue (like their parents)
Distribution Upper Amazon Basin in southern Ecuador and northern Peru; southern part of the Eastern Andes on the lower eastern slopes in Amazonia, Colombia, 300-1000 m elevation.
Biotope Found at the foot of hills near small streams.
Care and breeding They can be kept at a temperature of 23-25°C.
