Discovery Myers and Daly, 1980, American Museum Novitates New York, 2692: 2.
Type locality "mountains above south side of Lago de Calima, 1580-1600 meters elevation, about 2 km airline southwest of Puente Tierra (village), Department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia. The locality is roughly 50 km north of Cali, on the mountain above kilometer post 23 on the present Loboguerrero--Buga road (about 3° 52' N, 76° 25' W").
Holotype The holotype AMNH 102601 is located in the American Museum of Natural History, New York, USA.

History
Physical description Size: 16-20mm
Distribution Western slope of the Western Andes (Valle del Cauca) and western slope of the Central Andes (Quindío), Colombia, 1580-2100 m elevation.
Biotope
Care and breeding They can be kept at a temperature of 23-25°C.
