History
Physical description Size 12-15.5mm, black-brown base with a little orange, coppery dorsal stripe. The ventral is blue.
Distribution Central Panama to midway down the Pacific coast of Colombia, below 1000 m elevation.
Biotope M. minutus prefers open spaces, but no direct sunlight.
Care and breeding M. minutus is active early in the morning and in the evening (7.00 am to 11.00 am and 15.00 pm to 17.00 pm). In a vivarium of 40 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm at a temperature of 23-25°C, with moist absorbing material on the bottom and walls like fern root and mosses, some branches and rocks, 5-6 pairs can be kept. The 1 to 3 eggs are laid in between the leaves and hatch after 15 - 20 days. The metamorphosis is completed in 50 - 60 days. It is best to raise the larvae separately.
