The lighting structure is mounted against the ceiling via a 12 mm muliplex board. Board is isolated with reflective foil ( which does not transfer electricity ). All lamps are screwed in the wooden board.
There are 14 lamps. Each lamp support needs 4 cables, 2 to the starter, 1 to the mains and 1 to the transformer. The transformer needs a connection wire to the mains too. Each lamp therefore needs 5 wires.
The lamps are 36 Watts each. They are OSRAM DULUX lamps creating the right light for the vivarium plants to grow. The reflectors almost double the light strength of the lamps, which is a requirement to reach enough light on the floor level to sustain plant life.
Due to the hight of the vivarium the top section in the vivarium will have similar light to the tops of the trees in the rainforest ( which is loved by tillandsias), the lowest section will have enough light to sustain shadow loving plant life ( ferns and mosses ). The middle section will sustain orchids and bromelaids. Practice will show how flexible some plants will be......
