Here the connection to the heating wires is shown, these come from the top and will be installed under the ground level for bottom heating of the viv. Due to its heigth this could be required since the lamps are 6 foot away from the bottom level. The total installed power is 200 W for 1 square meter of surface ( about 10 square feet ).
The additional PVC pipe shown is an extra pipe which does not contain anything but can be used to put in new stuff from the top when the vivarium is finished.
The misting pump which takes its water from the separate container, is connected to 4 nozzles, The connection is made via 3 T-connectors that are placed in a way to distribute the water evenly. The whole system was tested and worked very well. The misters have there own filters inside so they can be maintained easier than the plastic misters i have in th eother vivaria. The system was obtained via kwekerij Rana.
The green PVC hose was added around the vivarium to provide the backwall watering system. 1.5 mm holes were drilled every 5 cm so that a large surface could be wetted intrinsically. This way the roots of the plants will go inside the fern root back panels ( that will be added later ). The watering will be done in shorth bursts of a few minutes several times a day.
Everything was tested and worked remarkebly well without leaking were it should not leak !!!!!
