After the hard work the fun work can start. Large chips were torn from the peat bricks in order to receive moldable pieces. These were added to create a certain landscape as desired. This way a lower wet section is created : a "stream", were the water from the waterfall pump will be pumped to and which will flow to the small "pond".
The higher sections will be substantially dryer, but since the humidity is kept very high, these sections will be suitable for epiphites already and plants that require dry roots. Frogs do not like wet feet all the time and mosthly ground dwelling frogs will die if kept in a vivarium that is too wet. High humidity is required but constant wetness is not desired for most poison frogs.
Large pieces of wood were found to create a natural look and the sides of the peat layer were filled with Polyurethane foam (PUR). This foam layer will support new layers so that a 3 dimensional structure can be made later.
